A Statement from Lennart:
"This piece was written during a National Poetry Month 30/30 in 2019 for Poems Against Cancer, an annual fundraiser I do in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Most of the poems I do for 30/30s are ekphrastic, as well as free verse or prose poems. As soon as I saw the Robert Doisneau photograph with its three central figures, their story began to write itself in my head. The image can be seen at http://www.artnet.com/artists/robert-doisneau/le-petit-balcon-rue-de-lappe-paris-rs9hQy5y7uvkHi-ms-ejUg2"
