A mother’s perspective.
Born and raised in Detroit, Ena first discovered her love for the performing arts at the age of eight. After playing the violin for 13 years and appearing in her first play, Free to Be You and Me, Ena went on to attend Indiana State University where she graduated and earned her B.A. in Music Business/ Entertainment. Ena also graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield, Michigan. After graduating from Specs, Ena was casted in several plays including Ain’t Nothing Promised, The Joy of Sex and Little Shop of Horrors. She is currently known for The Red Thunder (2015), Hidden America with Jonah Ray (2016), Alicia & Jerome (2018) and Made Public (2019).
This piece is inspired by her son, Kendrick.
