The Malibu Effect
Listen to stories about the history and mythology of Malibu then and now and learn the ins and outs of its current events and political controversies, the town’s wonderful (and not so wonderful) unique personalities, and even its celebrity residents.
Mentioning Malibu to most people conjures Hollywood-produced images of beaches, bikinis, and Bugattis, but, as is often the case, the true stories from this little burg by the sea are more fascinating than anything a scriptwriter could produce.
Arnold and Karen York—publishers of the Malibu Times and 40 year residents of Malibu—share their experience and perspective on the culture and character (as well as characters) of their iconic community by the sea. Listen to stories about the history and mythology of Malibu then and now and learn the ins and outs of its current events and political controversies, the town’s wonderful (and not so wonderful) unique personalities, and even its celebrity residents. Join the Yorks as they and their guests share their stories and opinions on a town that blurs the line between fantasy and reality.
